Principal's message
Welcome to Beverley Park School
I am deeply committed to Beverley Park School and the wonderful community we serve. I am also very lucky to be working alongside our Educational Support Dog, Sidney, within my role. Sidney plays a big part in fostering a positive wellbeing culture among staff, students, and the community. He is a valued member of our school team who brings a smile to the face of all who meet him. With many "super powers," Sidney supports our students daily, enhancing their educational and emotional experience.
At Beverley Park School, we remain dedicated to delivering excellence, innovation, and meaningful opportunities for every student's success. With almost 30 years of experience in Special Education, I am deeply committed to our students and community. I work relentlessly to support their needs, ensuring we provide high-quality programs that empower students to work towards achieving their fullest potential.
We provide our students with many rich learning experiences and ensure that individual learning needs and differentiation are at the forefront of our thinking. This approach allows us to tailor educational opportunities that engage and inspire every learner.
Our Primary school embraces the principles of play-based learning, which helps students learn in a genuinely fun and engaging way. This approach fosters a higher level of involvement and enthusiasm within their learning programs, building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Building on this success, our play-based learning program is extending into the high school, where students are responding positively. This approach supports student engagement all the way through to Year 12.
In addition, we have created High Potential Gifted Education (HPGE) groups to support students in extending their learning and pursuing their individual interests. These groups operate during lunch breaks and are regularly attended by enthusiastic students. Currently, our HPGE offerings include dance, signing/singing choir, Lego club, and two art clubs, providing a variety of creative and engaging opportunities.
We have a school-funded music therapist and a behaviour therapist who work across every class once a week, supporting students' emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. Furthermore, we run swimming lessons as part of our weekly hydrotherapy program, led by a trained swimming instructor, ensuring students benefit from tailored aquatic therapy experiences.
As a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school, we believe strongly in the power of student voice. In 2026, we proudly established our first Student Representative Council to ensure that students are heard and supported. This council plays a vital role in helping students express their goals and needs, enhancing their educational experience.
Beverley Park is a warm and welcoming school with an amazing community spirit. We always keep our doors open for families at all events and maintain a close connection with our community, ensuring everyone feels included and supported.
We ensure our staff keep up to date with current training and work very closely with therapists from both our internal and external teams. This collaboration ensures that students’ therapy needs are met with a strong focus on communication, guaranteeing that every student has a voice.
We highly value our strong partnerships with families and the broader community. Through regular events and collaborative initiatives, we ensure that family involvement remains at the heart of our school community.
Our dedicated team delivers tailored, inclusive learning programs, working closely with families and therapy providers. Together, we support each student's educational journey and wellbeing holistically.
Thank you for being part of the Beverley Park School community.
